Dr. Jose Lara is a healthcare provider, educator, entrepreneur, and community leader with more than 30 years of experience serving Arizona families. Born in El Salvador, he legally immigrated to the United States at age 15 and later became a proud U.S. citizen. His journey reflects the values of faith, perseverance, hard work, and the opportunities afforded by the American dream.

After earning his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life University in 1993, Dr. Lara established several successful healthcare practices, including Gonstead Physical Medicine, where he has helped thousands of patients improve their health through conservative, non-surgical care. He is a Diplomate of the Gonstead System, has served as an instructor for chiropractors for over 30 years, and is widely recognized for his expertise in complex spinal and disc-related conditions.

Dr. Lara is dual board-certified in spinal decompression therapy through the International Medical Advisory Board on Spinal Decompression and the American Spinal Decompression Association, where he also serves as an instructor. Alongside his wife, Dr. Kimberly Lara, he is a member of Disc Centers of America, the nation’s largest non-surgical spinal decompression organization. The Laras were recognized as Top Spinal Decompression Doctors in both 2025 and 2026 for their contributions to patient care and clinical excellence.

A Phoenix resident for more than 33 years, Dr. Lara has also served in leadership at Calvario Church for over 23 years through teaching, counseling, mentorship, and ministry oversight. He is passionate about strengthening families, supporting small businesses, and creating opportunities within the Hispanic community.

Dr. Lara and his wife of nearly 30 years are the proud parents of two sons and a daughter and remain dedicated to serving their community through healthcare, faith, education, and outreach.
