Gabriela Orozco
Gabriela Orozco was born and raised in California to Mexican immigrant parents, who instilled a deep appreciation for family values and community. As the oldest of four siblings, Gabriela cherishes the close-knit bond her family has fostered, guided by faith and love.
She attended East Los Angeles College (ELAC), where she focused on education and community development. Gabriela’s strong Christian faith has always been a cornerstone of her life. She has served in various leadership roles within her church, where she continues to inspire others.
After her son’s autism diagnosis, Gabriela turned a challenging experience into an opportunity to support and empower other families navigating similar journeys. With over a decade of experience working in the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD)—California’s largest school district—Gabriela developed a passion for advocating for families with special needs children.
In 2004, Gabriela and her family moved to Arizona for better opportunities. Alongside her husband, she co-founded Ideal Care LLC, a family-owned HCBS agency that supports children and adults with disabilities, particularly within the Spanish-speaking community. She has also served as president of GANE, the largest Spanish-speaking support group for families with disabilities in Arizona, for over 15 years.
Her commitment to advocacy extends to serving as a board member for organizations like Raising Special Kids and as a member of the Arizona Developmental Disabilities Planning Council ( ADDCP ), appointed by the Arizona Governor. She enjoys spending time with her family, hosting community events, and mentoring others. We are grateful for having Gabriela on our advisory board.
